Off-Site Party

We've decided that Punch Bowl Social Indianapolis is the best venue in the city for the Structural Technologies sponsored legendary party. Sometimes it takes a 20,250-square-foot complex to help you realize that mimosas go perfectly with bowling shoes, that you are the Master of a shuffleboard universe you didn’t even know existed and that the best way to prepare for karaoke or skeeball is with amazing scratch food and craft cocktails. Punch Bowl Social Indianapolis is in the heart of the city, an 11 minute walk from our host hotel, JW Marriott.

Fee: $50

Technical Tour

DigIndy Deep Rock Pump Station

The DigIndy tunnel storage system includes seven primary components: The Deep Rock Tunnel Connector Pump Station, Deep Rock Tunnel Connector, Eagle Creek Tunnel, White River Tunnel, Lower Pogues Run Tunnel, Fall Creek Tunnel and Pleasant Run Tunnel. After more than 10 years of construction, 5 of the 7 key projects are nearly complete. Once completed, all captured combined sewer overflow will be conveyed to the Deep Rock Pump Station, where it will be pumped to the surface for treatment at the Southport Advance Wastewater Treatment facility. The station is designed to dewater the 270+ million gallon Dig Indy tunnel storage system through four 30 mgd vertical centrifugal pumps each powered by a 2,000 horsepower motor.

The pump station is rather unique given that it his housed in a man-made cavern that was blasted out of bedrock. The base on the cavern is over 265 feet below ground and the cavern dimensions are 60 feet by 100 feet by 75 feet high. Approximately 16,000 cubic yards of rock were removed to construct it.

During the tour you will be able to either take the elevator or climb the 22 ½ flights of stairs (495 individual steps) to the base of the station.  We will also visit the station electrical control building and the screening building which filters out the large debris from the overflow before the flow reaches the pumps. If you are a fan of big infrastructure projects, please join us for the largest underground project built to date in the City of Indianapolis.

Tour includes transportation to and from the location. A minibus will be provided and will leave promptly at 1:15pm from the front entrance of the hotel. Please have your event ticket with you in order to be able to board.

This ticket must be purchased in addition to full registration.
