The Pipelines Conference's Emerging Leaders Program is a great chance for civil engineering students, younger Institute members, and utility engineers of all ages to position themselves at the head of the industry.

The program will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2027, and will proceed as follows:

Welcome Session | 10:00 am – 11:30 am

Designed for younger members and students, this opening session introduces attendees to UESI's technical divisions and the many ways to get involved within the Institute. Division leaders will share insights into their areas of practice, while participants gain practical tips for navigating the conference, expanding their professional network, maximizing their ASCE membership benefits, and discovering volunteer and leadership opportunities that can support their career growth.

Pipelines Research Symposium | 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Presenters will host technical talks before attendees break into small groups to discuss how to implement the latest pipeline technologies, processes, and techniques into everyday engineering practice.

Younger Member Engagement Committee Meeting | 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm

The annual face-to-face meeting of the Younger Member Engagement Committee gives new conference attendees the opportunity to meet UESI and ASCE leaders and learn more about activities in the institute. Task Groups include Conference Opportunities, Outreach and Networking, and Competition. New and interested members are always welcome at YMEC meetings.   

Younger Member Networking Reception | 4:30 pm – 5:00 pm

A casual networking mixer where students and young members can connect with UESI leaders, organizational members, and industry partners for professional development.
