Recreational/Networking Activity | David L. Tippin Water Treatment Facility

Aerial view of Tippin

The David L. Tippin Water Treatment Facility (DLTWTF), produces on average about 80 million gallons per day (mgd) of potable drinking water for Tampa’s water customers sourced from the Hillsborough River. The facility has undertaken significant upgrades to enhance its treatment processes and address emerging water quality challenges.

One notable initiative is the implementation of Suspended Ion Exchange (SIX) technology, aimed at reducing contaminants such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the drinking water. This $200 million project, once completed, will position the facility as the largest of its kind globally utilizing SIX technology

The primary source of water for the facility is the Hillsborough River Reservoir, situated behind the Hillsborough River Dam. Water from this reservoir undergoes treatment at the David L. Tippin Water Treatment Facility before being distributed to Tampa's residents and businesses.

This ticket must be purchased in addition to full registration.

Fee: Early Bird: $40 | Advance: $45 | Final: $50
